About me

Hello, my name is Martin Johannesson and this is my home on the web. I live in Stockholm, Sweden, where I work as a software engineer at a software company.

Martin

So, that's me in the picture up there. I don't even bother looking into the camera, that's how cool I am. Apparently, Photo Booth on my Mac mirrored the image, as well. A pretty dumb feature, if you ask me.

My interests include, but are not limited to, software development, movies, video games, Spotify, TV shows (fiction), NHL, Macs, and learning new things.

I have a constant urge to create. When I don't have a creative outlet I get frustrated and cranky. Fortunately, there's infinite room for exploration in software development. Writing code has been my main creative outlet for as long as I can remember, but I dabble in other disciplines as well.

About memfrag.se

Ever since I was a kid and discovered the art of programming on my C64, I've been tinkering with my own little software projects and experiments. This site is one such experiment.

The domain name "memfrag" is short for "memory fragmentation", which is kind of fitting, seeing how this site contains fragments of both my code and my memories.

OK, so that sounds like pretentious mumbo jumbo, but give me a break here! Do you know how insanely difficult it is to come up with a two-syllable domain name that isn't already taken?

The blue memfrag logo is supposed to be a generic memory card that is broken, i.e. fragmented. If you can't see that, it's simply because my abstract postmodern art is too sophisticated for you.

Where's the old blog?

Until very recently, I had a blog on here in Swedish. It's gone now, except for in Google's cache archive, of course. If you're going to write anything on the Internet, you better be prepared to defend it for many years to come!

I may bring the whole archive back at some point. It all depends on how much pain I'm prepared to endure in my efforts to import my old posts into my new blog system.

Favorite Movies

I like movies. A lot. Most people that know me can attest to that. Some might even say I get overly excited about movies, but what do they know? Nothing, that's what!

I believe that your favorite movies say a lot about you as a person, so here's my top 10 list. No, seriously though, I just like listing my favorite movies. In fact, I like talking about movies at least as much as I like watching them.

Note that the "Godfather" movies are not on my top 10. They don't even crack my top 500. The Godfather trilogy box set is an offer I can refuse. Snooze fest!
